3D printer Isopropanol is the ideal solution for cleaning the print bed and areas. Hofer Chemie Isopropanol guarantees its purity, quality and affordability. Now available in packages of 1 liter each.
Use of isopropanol
NB! Isopropanol is a dangerous substance, always handle with care. Isopropanol can be used in many ways with 3D printers. It is almost the most commonly used option for disinfecting the print bed, because it dissolves grease and ensures optimal adhesion of all 3D printer materials. Furthermore, isopropanol can be used to wash resin prints, which will remove excess (liquid) resin from the print, after which it can harden. The IPA can also be used to shine and smooth Polyvinyl butyral (PVB) filament.
Diluting isopropanol
It is possible to dilute IPA by 99.9%, also for degreasing print surfaces. Make sure the concentration does not drop below 70%, otherwise it will no longer have its effect.
Disinfect the print surface with isopropanol
To disinfect your print bed with isopropanol, it is important that the print surface is dry and at room temperature. The surface should not be too warm, otherwise the isopropanol will evaporate before it has been disinfected. Take a lint-free cloth and spread only a small amount of isopropanol on it. But make long movements on the print bed and make sure that the isopropanol does not have time to evaporate. If you feel that there is no more isopropanol present, repeat this process.
